COVID-19OUR RESPONSE SO FAR
We know that business-as-usual will be anything but normal as the hospitality industry begins its recovery from COVID-19 and begins its re-negotiation of expectations of you our loyal guest. We are currently working on a plan for re-opening the Riverside Sports Bar And Kitchen (Riverside SBK) in the coming weeks and in line with UK Government Guidance and will update you as further advice and information is made available.
The FSA has published guidance to assist food businesses like ours in responding to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the guidance can be found here. The new guidance has been developed with Defra and covers a range of areas including good hygiene practice, management of employee sickness, and social distancing for specific food business settings. Riverside Sports Bar And Kitchen is currently following these guidelines.
CLEANING & SANITISATION
Our employees strictly adhere to Riverside SBK Standard Operating Procedures at the highest level of compliance. Additionally, touch points such as our dispensing equipment, soft drink machines, door handles, restrooms, keypads, trash receptacles and any self-service dispensers are cleaned and sanitized at an increased frequency. Hand washing and glove changing have been a mandated in our standard operating procedures, but we have enhanced these protocols with an addition of hand sanitizer.
employee health & wellbeing
We continue to reinforce our policy for employees reporting illness. Team members must report directly to senior management if an employee is suspected to have been exposed to COVID-19, and we are ensuring those employees do not come to work. If there is concern for an employee, be it COVID-19 exposure or suspected illness, we work with local health department or EHO. We have implemented face masks for all employees and continue to promote social distancing within our pub. Additionally, we have begun to install plexiglass shields in front of our registers and service areas.
serving our customers with limited contact
The biggest adjustment for Riverside SBK has been the shift to a more digitally driven business model, as well as the introduction of contactless pickup and with the introduction of curbside delivery via UBER and our various delivery partners. Our hours and operations vary slightly, but we offer a mix of pickup (via online ordering), delivery and curbside. We continue to adhere to government mandates and local guidelines for pub operations in each jurisdiction we operate, but as areas begin to reopen, we assure you we will act with your best interest and safety in mind, maintaining social distancing measures and continuing to make cleanliness a top priority.
SANATISATION & CLEANING STATIONS
We have recently engaged Ollywood Services to deliver 4 new sanitisation stations which will be located throught the Riverside Sports Bar And Kitchen to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our customers. This is in addition to the two fixed stations we have already in place.
As the COVID-19 crisis began to unfold in early March, we quickly recognised it served as an existential threat to our business and the livelihoods of our employees.
Our main priority was and remains to take actions that ensure our business remains solvent during and after this crisis, protecting the jobs of our employees in the process. The following actions have been taken to safeguard our company and employees:
We transitioned to a digital sales format in order to meet demand from our customers and to save jobs. We are encouraging customers to book on our website () food for collection or delivery as well as delivery options via our delivery partners e.g.UBER, Just Eat and Deliveroo.
While our business has been significantly and materially impacted by this crisis, we remain committed to providing the best experience we can. And we are seeing improvement. Our employees continue to show why they are the best in the business, in the most difficult of circumstances. We are humbled, and couldn’t be prouder.
This situation continues to change daily and as such, we will continue to follow the guidance provided by the UK Government. In addition, we promise to do all that we can to keep our employees, customers and the community safe – all while delivering you the best experience we can to you.
